Pride & Joy has two great locations offering learning, laughter, and lots of love to all!
Our center on North Carll Avenue in Babylon is made up of three classrooms. One infant classroom, one toddler classroom, and one preschool classroom. This center has been in operation since 2012 and is licensed through New York State Offices of Child and Family Services for 27 children.
Our center on Deer Park Avenue in Babylon is made up for four classrooms. One infant classroom, one toddler classroom, and two preschool classrooms. This center has been in operation since 2017 and is licensed through New York State Offices of Child and Family Services for 45 children.
Our center on Prospect St. in Babylon is made up of two classrooms, both being Preschool. This center has been in operation since 2023 and is licensed through New York State Offices of Child and Family Services for 25 children.
All locations strive to provide a loving, stimulating environment for all children to learn and develop at their own pace.
Infant Classrooms
6 weeks -18 months
Our teachers and classrooms encourage infant exploration with ongoing stimulation that promotes their cognitive, physical, social-emotional and language development. Children learn so much about their bodies and the environment as they begin to roll about, crawl, sit up and walk. This is such an exciting age as we observe a child’s delight in recognizing and creating sounds and words. Our carefully planned curriculum allows for individual lesson planning based on the stages of development each child is at at the time. Our teachers here at Pride & Joy are passionate about childcare and about each child’s growth and development.
Toddler Classrooms
18 month to 36 months
Each day is spent fostering the growth of each child as they learn and grow together. Because toddlers are learning at such a fast pace, our teachers keep the day moving by planning activities in all developmental areas. Our carefully planned curriculum focuses on every moment of the day being used as a learning experience for the toddlers. Our toddlers are walking, talking, socializing and teetering between dependence and being independent. This group is often messy as they learn to feed themselves, use the potty, and indulge their artistic creativity. They love to hear and make music, dance and listen to stories. They also enjoy blocks, simple puzzles and manipulative toys.
Preschool Classrooms
3 years - 5 years
Our classrooms provide learning centers with many ways for children to explore, discover and grow. In our preschool classrooms, we incorporate basic readiness skills, such as cutting, pasting and tracing. We provide a dress up area, arts and crafts, cozy library, and science centers. Pride & Joy teachers enhance these experiences with small and large group activities that give your “pride & joy” the tools they need to grow and develop into lifetime learners.
Our four year old children focus on preparing for Kindergarten. The lesson plans and goals are created based on the children's developmental level and follow the Pre Kindergarten Foundation for the Common Core. Our teachers use Creative Curriculum and Fundations (Wilsons Language Basics) to guide children along a developmental continuum within the learning centers throughout the classroom. These centers include science, math, art & writing, sensory, literacy, and dramatic play.
